"That’s what everyone says isn't it? Gay men shag everything. Disease and all that.
My mum, when I came out, the first thing she said to me was ‘don’t get AIDS'...
But things are different now. They’ll be different for us."
When a young man stands on a stranger's doorstep intending to lose his virginity, he is consoled by the fact that he is destined for better, safer, things. Surely.
The twenty-first century. Homosexuality is now more integrated than ever. Marriage is legal, parenthood is possible and 'homophobics' are now the one's shunned from society. Now’s the time to replace promiscuity with companionship: but is it really that simple?
After a sell-out development showing at The Old Red Lion Theatre, London in November 2015; Circa transferred over to Amsterdam where it premiered at the Theater de Meervaart as part of Festival Contact in January 2016. The play, Tom Ratcliffe's full length debut, was developed through Rikki Beadle-Blair and John Russell Gordon at Team Angelica.
